			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Othoni is the ideal place for quiet and peaceful holidays, for swimming and fishing.<br />
This small island is famous for its natural beauties, the tranquility that offers, the virgin sandy beaches with crystal clear waters and its exotic caves.</p>
<p>It has a few small settlements. The most known are <strong>Chorio</strong> and the port <strong>Ammos</strong>, where you can find small hotels, few rooms to let, coffee bars and fish taverns. The police station, health center and post office are also located here. You can walk in the cobbled streets with the traditional houses visit the old  churches, the relics of the Venetian fortress and enjoy the enchanting view.<br />
The island has four beautiful churches of Byzantine architecture and their feasts they attract many visitors.</p>
<p>At north part of the island you will find the fine beach of <strong>Fyki</strong> with its crystal clear waters.</p>
<p>At the <strong>Kastri</strong> location , at the eastern edge of the island, there is a Venetian castle. In the same location there is a large lighthouse, constructed in 1872 which has a height of 13 meters.</p>
<p>All the settlements of the island are interesting, but <strong>Vitsentzianika</strong> is one of the most impressive. It is built on a steep slope of Merovigli mountain with a superb view over the largest part of the island.</p>
<p>The exotic cave  of Calypso can be visited by small boat. According to mythology, Odysseus met Nausica on this place.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>TRADITION – EVENTS </strong></span><br />
Every year at Easter at the church of the Holy Trinity at Ammos a three-day celebration takes place.  Moreover, in the summer, on the official day of the Holy Trinity and Virgin Mary churches, celebrations are organized.</p>
