Othoni liew 11,5 nautical miles north-west of Corfu with which is connected by boat (Othoni Port Authority – tel. + 30 26630 72280).
The ferry boat leaves from the port of Corfu and the trip lasts 4 hours, or from the port of Agios Stefanos in 1 hour & 30 minutes. Also from the ports of Sidari and Roda in Corfu; tourist boats trips throughout the summer (duration of trip 2 hours).

Othoni island is the largest of Diapontia islands and the westernmost part of Greece with an area of 10,8 square kilometers. It lies 11,5 nautical miles north-west of Corfu, with which is connected by boat.
Othoni has followed a historical route parallel to that of Corfu. It has been under Venetian, French, and English domination before it was annexed by Greece in 1864.

Othoni is the ideal place for quiet and peaceful holidays, for swimming and fishing.
This small island is famous for its natural beauties, the tranquility that offers, the virgin sandy beaches with crystal clear waters and its exotic caves.
It has a few small settlements. The most known are Chorio and the port Ammos, where you can find small hotels, few rooms to let, coffee bars and fish taverns. The police station, health center and post office are also located here. You can walk in the cobbled streets with the traditional houses visit the old churches, the relics of the Venetian fortress and enjoy the enchanting view.
The island has four beautiful churches of Byzantine architecture and their feasts they attract many visitors.
At north part of the island you will find the fine beach of Fyki with its crystal clear waters.
At the Kastri location , at the eastern edge of the island, there is a Venetian castle. In the same location there is a large lighthouse, constructed in 1872 which has a height of 13 meters.
All the settlements of the island are interesting, but Vitsentzianika is one of the most impressive. It is built on a steep slope of Merovigli mountain with a superb view over the largest part of the island.
The exotic cave of Calypso can be visited by small boat. According to mythology, Odysseus met Nausica on this place.
TRADITION – EVENTS
Every year at Easter at the church of the Holy Trinity at Ammos a three-day celebration takes place. Moreover, in the summer, on the official day of the Holy Trinity and Virgin Mary churches, celebrations are organized.
