The small, remote island of Agios Efstratios, 21 nautical miles south of Lemnos, is a small paradise, an ideal place for quiet and peaceful holidays. It is a beautiful island, that deserves you visit it and know its natural beauties, its history and the simple, hospitable inhabitants.

There are no cars on the island and the only way to tour it and enjoy its isolated beaches and virgin nature is by boat. The boats transport day-trippers to even the remote beaches for swimming.

It has fine sandy beaches, many sea caves and small churches dotting its hills. You can swim at the fine sandy beach of the village with crystal clear waters.
Agios Antonios, Tragari, Trypiti, Lidario, Gournias, Panagia, Ftilio and Kalami are the beaches to visit.

The only settlement, Agios Efstratios (or Ai-Stratis), has beautiful houses, pensions, rooms to let, and some taverns serving fresh fish, seafood and the famous chesse “mizithra” of fine quality.

On 15th August (Assumption of the Virgin Mary), a festival is held in the village square of the island.
